An Epic Journey Across Morocco

Experience an unforgettable 13-day adventure with tours of endless ancient wonders in Fez, Casablanca, Marrakesh — & beyond — including Ibn Danan Synagogue, Hassan II Mosque, Koutoubia Mosque, Berber villages & more. Book by July 30.

About Your Trip

Inhale the intoxicating fragrances of spices and perfumes at the souks of Fez, delve into the wonderful culture of Casablanca and discover the age-old charms of Marrakesh … all this — and much more — awaits you on this fascinating 12-night DreamTrip across Morocco.

Your adventure begins in the vibrant, ancient city of Fez. Marvel at the carefully-maintained architecture of the Medersa el-Attarine, Mosque of al-Qarawiyyin and other structures. Get ready to barter for prized leather goods at the Chaouwara tanneries before admiring Ibn Danan Synagogue in the mellah, the Jewish quarter of Fez. The next full-day tour brings you to Meknes to immerse yourself in one of Morocco’s imperial cities. You’ll be impressed by the towering entrance of the Bab Mansour city gate — a prime example of Almohad architecture. In Chefcaouen, a city known for its blue-tinted buildings, you’ll see important mosques, historic monuments and other cultural sites.

Then, you’ll spend 3 days in and around Casablanca, with excursions to world-renowned destinations and plenty of classic regional fare. Tour some of the city’s top attractions including the bustling Marche Centrale (central market), Mohammed V Square and the impressively grand Hassan II Mosque. End your full-day outing with dinner and a show at the iconic Rick’s Cafe, made famous for its role as the restaurant and piano bar in the 1942 film “Casablanca.” The following day, you’ll visit Morocco’s cultural capital, Rabat, where the magnificent Royal Palace and 12th-century Oudayas Kasbah await you, along with the Mausoleum of Mohamed V and intriguing Hassan Tower.

Your fabulous journey continues in Marrakesh, where there’s no end to the city’s age-old charms, from fragrant, bustling souks to imposing, historic mosques. You’ll be treated to 3 full-day tours so you can see a little of everything. Visit the Menara gardens, ancient Saadian tombs, and the grand, awe-inspiring Bahia Palace. Check out the elaborately designed Koutoubia Mosque and the famous Djemaa el-Fna square — filled with handicraft souks, food stalls, snake charmers, magicians and other street artists.

After a short ride to the port city of Essaouira — formerly Mogador — you’ll see the remains of the fortress there, including the section of ramparts known as Skala de la Kasbah. Your final outing is a little more adventurous. Get ready for thrills as you head to the picturesque Berber villages of Asni and Ouirgane via 4-wheel-drive vehicle (4X4).

Back in Marrakesh, your wondrous trip ends with a delicious farewell dinner and cultural show — the perfect way to round out your extensive, once-in-a-lifetime DreamTrip across Morocco.

What we love:
• Of Morocco’s 4 Imperial cities, Fez is the oldest. It was originally 2 separate cities until they were united during the Almoravid dynasty in the 11th century.
• You’ll get a great glimpse into history when you visit the administrative buildings around the perimeter of Mohammed V Square in Casablanca. The square’s Hispano-Moorish and Art Deco architectural designs reflect Morocco’s Spanish and French colonial periods.
• The harbor town of Essaouira was once the most important trading port between Europe and North Africa. An active market still exists for handicrafts and other goods, particularly objects made from lemon wood, mother of pearl and ebony, making it the perfect place to pick up souvenirs. Just don’t forget to haggle!
• To maximize your enjoyment, download the DreamTrips™ app to access DreamTrips Local — then earn points on dining, entertainment, spa experiences & more at select spots recommended by DreamTrippers just like you!

Destination

The former capital of Morocco, Fez was established in 789. Its proximity to the Jawhar River made the city a popular stop for traders, allowing its markets to grow more diverse. The University of al-Qarawiyyin was established there in 859. The city’s Muslim and Jewish populations flourished during the Marinid period, managing to establish a thriving intellectual center together during that time.

Coastal Casablanca is the largest cosmopolitan city of Morocco and serves as the country’s main port area. Morocco’s long history of colonization by Spain and France have left their influences, notably in the city’s classic Hispano-Moorish architecture and its flourishing fashion and design districts.

The culture of Marrakesh is a fascinating mix of North African and European influences. This 1,000-year-old city is one of the Muslim world’s great citadels. Elaborate ancient mosques are popular tourist attractions, and the historic wealth of Marrakesh is evident in its other architecture, especially the grand palaces and mansions.
